PLEASE DON'T APPROACH ME

This collection is based on me. I'm introverted and I often wear black, which makes me look more low-key. I find the widespread mourning rituals of the Victorian era led to the increasing use of black cloth and the central function of the strict dress code was the control of females. I consider using functionality to replace the original restrictive body structure of the mourning garment to oppose the monstrous Victorian aesthetic and consider how these garments appear in the modern world. I combine Victorian mourning with modern garments to create a cold and mysterious modern Victorian style.
